How hard is the Walking Tour of Umbria?
We rate the difficulty of this tour as a 3 / 5. This tour is of moderate difficulty, with well-maintained paths and trails traversing high plateaus, gravel roads, and expansive forests. A good level of fitness and some sure-footedness are required, but with daily hikes of up to 5 hours, the pace allows for a relaxed exploration of cultural highlights along the route.

Do I need insurance?
Yes, it is mandatory to have health and medical insurance to join this trip, and your insurance should cover hiking. Get your travel insurance.
How do I get to Passignano to start this tour?
Passignano is easily accessible by car, located along the A1 and E45 highways. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Perugia and around 2 hours from Florence. Follow the signs to Passignano sul Trasimeno once you exit the main roads. Arriving by train is also an option as Passignano sul Trasimeno has its own train station, which is well connected by regional trains. You can take a train from cities like Florence, Rome, or Perugia. From Florence, you'll likely change trains in Terontola-Cortona before reaching Passignano. Also, regular bus services connect Passignano to nearby cities such as Perugia and other towns around Lake Trasimeno. Bus routes are available from Perugia’s central bus station.

The tour ends in Spoleto.
