Transfer to Courmayeur and trek to Bonatti Hut
Meet at 9 a.m. at the Prarion car park, in Les Houches, for a transfer to Courmayeur. You then climb to the Bertone refuge to enjoy the extraordinary panorama it offers on the Mont-Blanc massif. Breathtaking! End the day with a beautiful balcony crossing to the Bonatti refuge, marking the end of a beautiful stage. Note that luggage cannot be delivered to Rifugio Bonatti, so you will need to pack an overnight bag on this day.

Over Grand Col Ferret to La Fouly
After a climb with a magnificent view of Mont Dolent, you will pass the Grand Col Ferret to pass into Switzerland. The day ends with a gentle descent towards the mountain pasture of La Peule to reach the small village of La Fouly, a real postcard of Valais.

Through Val Ferret to Champex
Today, discover Val Ferret Switzerland and its small traditional villages to reach Champex and its pretty lake. This stage ends with a short climb to our accommodation for the day, a comfortable inn bathed in a soothing atmosphere.

High Level walk to Trient
After a short transfer in Val Ferret to Champex, you will embark on a beautiful high-level traverse above Martigny and the Rhone valley. In the distance, the vineyards bear witness to the canton’s wine production. Depending on how the group feels and current conditions, there may be an option to take the Fenêtre d’Arpette route and enjoy a beautiful alpine setting. Your guide will make the best decision.

What’s included

Meals

The guided tour option includes 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 dinners, as well as some snacks are included on the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour. Self-guided tour includes 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners in gites or mountain huts along the route, but you can order lunches for an extra charge.

Accommodations

Accommodation for 4 nights is included. Accommodation before and after the tour can be added as a supplement.

Transportation during the Tour

Transportation for your luggage is included during the tour. No other transport is included. The transfer of one piece of luggage per person is provided every day between the different accommodations (except on the evening of day 1 in Bonatti): one soft bag per person, of a maximum of 12kg each (duffle bag type).

This tour is based on shared accommodation in Mountain Huts, Gites or dormitories. Please note that in some cases you can upgrade to double rooms with an extra supplement (please contact us for the pricing, this is only available for self-guided or private guided groups).

Single Rooms are not available as this tour takes place in mountain huts, gites and/or inns, and you will be sharing rooms/dormitories.

Non-Standard Cancellation

  • 64 days or more prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 45% of the total trip cost (full deposit)
  • Between 24 and 63 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 50% of the total trip cost.
  • Between 19 and 23 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 60% of the total trip cost.
  • Between 11 and 18 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 85% of the total trip cost.
  • 10 days or less: the cancellation fee will be 100% of the total trip cost.

Fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA), formerly known as Cointrin Airport. You can arrange a private transfer or take public transport to Chamonix. To get to Les Houches you can take a bus or taxi from Chamonix.

Is the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour in English?

Yes, the tour guide is English-speaking. There will often be international as well as French guests on the tour, and the tour guides are multi-lingual. If you are travelling as a self-guided hiker, the information provided will be in English, however, you can also request for it to be in French.

Where does the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour end?

The tour ends in Le Tour, a village near Chamonix. You can take a taxi or public transportation to get to Chamonix.
