This trek is for all those who wish to discover the splendid Tour du Mont Blanc in just a few days. The Tour du Mont Blanc is a stunning trek that takes you around Mont Blanc. For many people finding time for the complete route is a challenge, so this 5-day trek takes you on the eastern half of the route.
This route, from Courmayeur to Chamonix, will take you through 3 countries and discover 3 different cultures in no time. The northern part of our famous Tour du Mont Blanc, with multiple facets: the charm of Courmayeur and Val Ferret as well as the splendid landscapes of Switzerland will amaze you. All this with a light bag and nights in comfortable mountain huts to give you an unforgettable adventure.
Starting in the Chamonix Valley, you take a transfer to Courmayeur, where you begin your trek. Cross famous mountain passes like Grand Col Ferret, or if weather is favourable the Fenêtre d’Arpette, while you get to see villages like La Fouly, Champex, Trient and Le Tour.

Meals
The guided tour option includes 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 dinners, as well as some snacks are included on the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour. Self-guided tour includes 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners in gites or mountain huts along the route, but you can order lunches for an extra charge.
Accommodations
Accommodation for 4 nights is included. Accommodation before and after the tour can be added as a supplement.
Transportation during the Tour
Transportation for your luggage is included during the tour. No other transport is included. The transfer of one piece of luggage per person is provided every day between the different accommodations (except on the evening of day 1 in Bonatti): one soft bag per person, of a maximum of 12kg each (duffle bag type).

Accommodation for 5-Day Guided Eastern Section Tour du Mont Blanc
This tour is based on shared accommodation in Mountain Huts, Gites or dormitories. Please note that in some cases you can upgrade to double rooms with an extra supplement (please contact us for the pricing, this is only available for self-guided or private guided groups).
Single Rooms and Solo Travellers
Single Rooms are not available as this tour takes place in mountain huts, gites and/or inns, and you will be sharing rooms/dormitories.
Non-Standard Cancellation
- 64 days or more prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 45% of the total trip cost (full deposit)
- Between 24 and 63 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 50% of the total trip cost.
- Between 19 and 23 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 60% of the total trip cost.
- Between 11 and 18 days prior to departure: the cancellation fee will be 85% of the total trip cost.
- 10 days or less: the cancellation fee will be 100% of the total trip cost.
How hard is the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour?
We rate the difficulty of this tour as a 4 / 5. You will hike 5-6 hours a day, with lots of uphill and downhill. The path might be easy, but you’ll still move your body every day!
Do I need a visa to travel to France or Italy?

Are meals included on the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour?
4 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 dinners are included on the tour. Some snacks are also included.
Do I need insurance?
Yes, it is mandatory to have health and medical insurance to join this trip, and your insurance should cover hiking. Get your travel insurance.
How do I get to Les Houches to start this tour?
Fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA), formerly known as Cointrin Airport. You can arrange a private transfer or take public transport to Chamonix. To get to Les Houches you can take a bus or taxi from Chamonix.
Is the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour in English?
Yes, the tour guide is English-speaking. There will often be international as well as French guests on the tour, and the tour guides are multi-lingual. If you are travelling as a self-guided hiker, the information provided will be in English, however, you can also request for it to be in French.
Where does the 5-day Tour du Mont Blanc Tour end?
The tour ends in Le Tour, a village near Chamonix. You can take a taxi or public transportation to get to Chamonix.
Do I need special vaccines to travel to France or Italy?
