Leave Grândola and cross a beautiful hilly region
Ride through amazing single trails in the Grândola Sierra leading you to Santiago do Cacém, a blend of maritime coast, pine forest, and Alentejo inspiration, well known for its castle, a fortification of Moorish origin later rebuilt by the Christians.

Bike to Cercal
Leave the historical village of Santiago do Cacém and start cycling, heading south through inner Alentejo. Explore the quiet roads of this region and feel the essence of Alentejo, passing by some of the “forgotten” rural villages of Alentejo. As you arrive in Vila Nova de Milfontes, you will be close to the sea and to some amazing beaches. The Mira River is one of the interesting points of this fishing village known as the Alentejo Princess.

MTB the best-kept secrets of Alentejo
Today you will be riding on the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Visit Vila Nova de Milfontes and continue south, towards the stunning Cape Sardão. Guarded by a lighthouse, this cape is a place of absolute harmony between land and ocean. Admire the incredible stork nests in these amazing overhangs! Ride close to high remarkable cliffs and visit the typical village of Zambujeira do Mar. Continue through fields until you get to the Seixe River. By crossing it, you are exiting the Alentejo and entering the Wild Algarve! Waiting for you on the other side will be Odeceixe, an attractive village on a hillside, with an old windmill sitting on the tallest hill.

Cycle to the Stunning Odeceixe beach
After crossing a plateau where you will ride through fields of sweet-potatoes and water channels, it’s time to head down to sea level for some more incredible beaches. Then, follow a valley where once caravels sailed to the village of Aljezur about 5km inland. Go up the narrow streets through typical houses and reach the medieval castle of Aljezur! Follow the winding road that sweeps down from the cliff’s top to the sea, where you will find a stunning village by the ocean - Monte Clérigo. End this day in an amazing village over the Cliffs - Arrifana!

Ride to the Secret Canal Beach
Start riding on top of an indescribable plateau and go down a dirt road to the secret Canal Beach. This will be an image that will stay in your memory forever. After, cycle through some forests and head towards the coast, passing by the incredible village of Carrapateira, following a dirt road in one of the most beautiful landscapes. Pass by stunning beaches, with incredible colorful cliffs. Leave the ocean and go up through a beautiful round pine forest and arrive at a typical and old village once abandoned and now recovered as a hotel.

Bike to Cape São Vicente
On this last day of cycling, you must leave the slow & rustic village lifestyle behind you because it is time to get back to the coastline. Follow a coastal route that will allow you to discover some of the most beautiful and secret beaches of the Vicentina Coast. After climbing to the last plateau, you can calmly ride the reddish dirt roads heading south along Algarve’s wild coast, until Cape São Vicente - the south-westernmost point of Continental Europe.
