Arrive in Avignon and spend the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city on the banks of the Rhône. Visit iconic landmarks like the Palais des Papes, the Saint Bénezet bridge, and the city's churches and museums. Wander through charming squares and hidden alleys, soaking in the medieval atmosphere and rich history.

Cycling through the Montagnette and Saint-Rémy
After picking up your bike in Avignon, head out of the historic city center towards the Montagnette massif, surrounded by fragrant scrubland, olive trees, and pine forests. Stop at the Saint Michel de Frigolet monastery for a peaceful picnic. Continue to the charming village of Graveson, known for its ancient plane trees and artistic history. Then, cycle through Maillane, home to poet Frédéric Mistral, before reaching Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh spent his final year. For an extra challenge, take a 29km loop to the picturesque village of Eygalières, surrounded by vineyards, before returning to Saint-Rémy.

Today, cycle through the winding streets of the Alpilles, surrounded by pines, wildflowers, and the Romanesque chapel of Saint-Gabriel. Visit the Château d'Estoublon estate, where you can optionally taste local olive oils and wines. Continue to the stunning village of Le Baux de Provence, perched high on a rock with its medieval castle ruins. After exploring, descend to the plains, passing a 2,000-year-old aqueduct before reaching Arles. Discover the ancient Roman architecture, including the theater and amphitheater, and visit the Van Gogh Foundation.

Exploring the Camargue – Flamingos, Bulls & White Horses
On your final day, enjoy a scenic loop through the Camargue Regional Natural Park, known for its rich wildlife and unique landscapes. Cycle through flat expanses of rice fields and salt marshes, where you can spot flamingos, black bulls, and white horses. For an extra adventure, extend your ride by 10km to visit La Capelière, the reserve’s starting point, with hiking trails and observation points overlooking the marshes. Afterward, return to Arles for your last night.

Fly into Marseille Provence Airport (MRS), the closest major airport, about an hour from Avignon. From there, take a direct train or shuttle to Avignon. Alternatively, you can fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and take a high-speed TGV train (around 2h40) to Avignon. Other options include regional trains, buses, or driving via the A7 motorway.
