Accommodation for Picos de Europa Active Family Adventure Tour

This tour is based in a charming traditional guesthouse located in one of the small villages in the Cabrales Municipality. A guesthouse will be selected for you upon booking, depending on the season and availability. All guesthouses host a maximum of 8 guests (including adults and children).
All guesthouses are private accommodations and offer basic amenities.

In some cases, the accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other comparable accommodations.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrive

Arrive at your selected cozy guesthouse in the small village of Cabrales. You’ll undoubtedly be swept away fairly quickly by the peaceful and serene atmosphere afforded by the beautiful surroundings.

Settle into your home-away-from-home and prepare for an epic start to your adventure tomorrow.

Day 2

Day 2: Introductory Walk in the Picos

The Picos de Europa National Park, a spectacular example of an Atlantic Ecosystem, is yours to discover in the coming days. Its collection of mountains, gorges, meadows, lakes, and rivers comprise an outdoor wonderland full of exciting discoveries and surprises.

Today, you’ll choose from a selection of ten hiking routes provided in your itinerary, giving you a chance to acquaint yourself with this beautiful land as you begin to get a feel for its majesty.

Day 3

Day 3: River Canyoning Adventure

Today an exciting adventure unfolds on the Deva River. Get ready to explore the mighty canyons of the Picos as you embark on a river canyon adventure as a family. You’ll receive all the necessary gear and instruction, as well as a qualified expert local guide.

The minimum age for the canyoning activity is 8 years old. If travelling with children under the age of 8, an exciting canoeing adventure along the Deva River is available instead.

Day 4

Day 4: Dairy Visit in Sotres

Overnight Location - Guesthouse in Cabrales | Distance - None | Meals - None

Say "cheese!" Today, you'll visit a cheese dairy in the charming village of Sotres (a guided visit can be booked in advance). Here, the dairy's proprietors, called Quesería Maín, will invite you into their fascinating world of cheese production. You'll have a chance to see the cheese cave where the famous Cabrales cheese ages and, of course, enjoy delicious tastings of several Asturian kinds of cheese.

Day 5

Day 5: Walking in the Picos

Overnight Location - Guesthouse in Cabrales | Distance - Flexible | Meals - None

Today, you’ll choose from the proposed list of hikes, depending on how much or how little you’d like to walk and what you’d like to see.

Limestone formations, pastures, lovely woods, glistening streams, and wildflower meadows are yours to discover.
