Day 1

Day 1: Arrive

Your North Holland Peninsula Cycling Tour begins in Holland’s “city of cheese,” Alkmaar! Check into your accommodations and explore the unique town that offers much more than just delectable cheese. Stroll the Alkmaar’s old town center with its marvellous architecture and several historical monuments. Alkmaar is also home to superb shopping districts with streets lined with cozy cafes and unique shops. If museums are your thing, check out Alkmaar’s Beer Museum or Cheese Museum.

Whatever you get up to in Alkmaar today, follow it up with a good night’s rest to prepare for your first day of cycling tomorrow.

Day 2

Day 2: Cycle to Amsterdam via Zaandam

Overnight Location - Hotel in Amsterdam | Distance - 60km | Meals - Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast, then hop in the saddle for a mesmerizing ride along the east coast to Amsterdam.

Your first destination is Zaandam, where you’ll check out the famous Zaanse Schans neighbourhood, with magnificent 17th- and 18th-century wooden homes painted in dark green and several charming bridges and windmills.

Back on your bike, you’ll ride to Amsterdam to your hotel. Once settled, begin your exploration of the vibrant city with a visit to the famous former home of Anne Frank, where she wrote her worldwide published diary. Or enjoy a joy ride through the bike-friendly streets, cruising alongside the city’s network of canals. The progressive capital boasts no shortage of things to see and do—the only trouble is choosing what to do first.

Day 3

Day 3: Cycle Idyllic Villages to Volendam

Following a delightful night in the capital, you’ll depart this morning to Volendam. A scenic route unfolds along Lake Markermeer, guiding you through idyllic Dutch villages like Durgerdam.

Once in Volendam, you’ll find a charming small fishing village with deep catholic roots and quaint streets lined with lovely stone houses. Enjoy the rest of the day here perusing the streets, and be sure to take a trip down to the historic harbour.

Day 4

Day 4: Cycle the Coast to Alkmaar

Overnight Location - Hotel in Alkmaar | Distance - 60km | Meals - Breakfast

Another day of cycling on the gorgeous east coast is on the horizon today. Seize your final ride to return to Alkmaar.

With the cool sea breeze at your back, you’ll head north along the coast before cutting inland to return to Alkmaar. Enjoy your final evening in Alkmaar, reminiscing on the memories made over a farewell dinner.
