From Trittenheim, you can reach the other riverbank by crossing one of the oldest bridges and viewing the old, preserved ferry towers. Passing the oldest wine village in Germany, Neumagen-Dhron, you arrive at Piesport, where an impressively restored roman cellar dating back to the 4th century awaits you. It is worthwhile to take a side trip to the famous wine village Bernkastel-Kues and visit the paved market square surrounded by half-timbered houses. Continue to Zeltingen, where you'll find several grand baroque buildings.
