Day 1

Go from Malpensa Airport to Alba

Overnight Location - Hotel in Alba | Distance - None | Meals - Dinner

Arrive at the Milan Airport and transfer a short distance to Alba and check into your hotel. If you arrive early, you’ll get the chance to explore the quaint, welcoming Italian town, which, like most towns in Italy, encompasses remnants of the country's rich, historical past.

Day 2

Hike to Treiso

Overnight Location - Hotel in Treiso | Distance - 4 hours, 10 km, 200 m ascent, 200 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading to the starting point of your walking adventure! Begin by walking towards Langhe’s Barbaresco wine region and admire the vineyards and medieval villages scattered atop hills. Every corner offers an explosion of new views, from rolling hills, fascinating rock formations, gorges, and you’ll likely come across the famed Alba white truffle growing along the Tanaro river.

Day 3

Walk to San Bovo

Overnight Location - Hotel in San Bovo | Distance - 5 hours, 13 km, 400 m ascent, 400 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Eat breakfast before heading out on your next walking excursion. Admire how the scenery fades from vineyards to hazelnut groves, woods, and fascinating rock formations.

Day 4

Hike to Cravanzana

Overnight Location - Hotel in Cravanzana | Distance - 6 hours, 15 km, 400 m ascent, 400 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Get ready to meander a more unruly, untamed section of Langhe today! Walk along the faded footprints stamped by merchants a long time ago on salt roads. Breathe in the fresh air of the woods and marvel at the remote villages spanning the landscape. You’ll also encounter more hazelnut groves as you walk!

Day 5

Walk to Roddino

Overnight Location - Hotel in Roddino | Distance - 5.5 hours, 13 km, 350 m ascent, 350 descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Meander the many trails carved into Alta Langa, enjoying unforgettable vistas as you walk. Encounter a treasury of villages made famous by Beppe Fongolio, an Italian writer. You’ll also come across medieval villages stretching across hilltops, each cloaked with rich tales of the past.

Day 6

Hike to Monforte d'Alba

Overnight Location - Hotel in Monforte d'Alba | Distance - 6.5 hours, 16 km, 400 m ascent, 400 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Travel back to landscapes overflowing with vineyards and must-try wines, such as the Barolo crus. Amid the lush vineyards, you’ll walk through villages brimming with historical tales and treasures.

Day 7

Verduno

Overnight Location - Hotel in Verduno | Distance - 6 hours, 14 km, 350 m ascent, 350 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Enjoy spending another day discovering the profusion of vineyards spanning the Barolo wine region. But the beauty doesn’t stop there. You’ll also reach La Morra, another Italian commune that boasts of sheets of wineries. Marvel at the Alps painting the backdrop here. Enjoy visiting castles and long-standing wine cellars.

Day 8

Walk to Alba

Overnight Location - None | Distance - 6.5 hours, 16 km, 300 m ascent, 300 m descent | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Encounter an array of stunning sights on your walking tour's final leg: admire the views from Belvedere and meander through more Barolo vineyards. Eventually, you’ll reach Alba, where you can decide to spend another night or transfer to Malpensa Airport in Milan.
