Even if you might not be up for the 182 mile challenge that is the entire Coast to Coast Walk across the north of England, the Coast to Coast Walk Segment 8: Reeth to Richmond offers a great opportunity to experience some of the beautiful terrain and fantastic trails that make up just a small portion of this legendary walking route.
Setting out from the town of Reeth, you will make your way east across Arkle Beck and climb up the hillside, traversing the slopes to the southeast as you enjoy some scenic views across Swaledale. After passing through a tranquil stretch of forest and climbing further uphill, you will pass through the charming village of Marrick.
From here, you will traverse the open fields and undulating terrain to the northeast, passing through Marske and working your way along the slopes above the River Swale. After traversing a few more beautiful stretches of woodland terrain and descending the hillside, you will arrive at the end point of the walk in Richmond.
Getting to the Coast to Coast Walk Segment 8: Reeth to Richmond Trailhead
To reach the Coast to Coast Walk Segment 8: Reeth to Richmond trailhead from Richmond, make your way west along Victoria Road/A6108 for 5.0mi and make a slight right. Continue on B6270 for another 5.0mi and turn right to stay on the same road. After 0.9mi, you will find the car park on the left.Route Information
