If your aim is to explore local history and visit one of the most scenic locations within the Yorkshire Dales, then you will definitely want to check out the Bolton Abbey to Barden Bridge Circular Walk. Terrain here is easy to navigate and the views along the river are stunning, making this an ideal walk for the entire family.
Setting out from the car park in Bolton Abbey, you will make your way to the northeast and pass by the historic Bolton Priory, before continuing along the winding River Wharfe. Enjoy the scenic views along the Wharfedale Valley, as you follow the western bank of the river to pass by the Bolton Abbey Aqueduct and 15th Century Barden Tower.
From here, you will continue a bit further along the trail and utilize Barden Bridge to cross the river, heading to the southeast along the opposite bank of the river to gain a different perspective of the beautiful landscape. Eventually, you will cross back over the River Wharfe and take in some more views of the priory, as you make your way back to the car park on the final leg of the walk.

To reach the trailhead for the Bolton Abbey to Barden Bridge Circular Walk from Addingham, drive north for 2.2mi along Bolton Road and take the second exit at the roundabout onto B6160. Follow this for 0.7mi and turn left to enter the car park.Route Information
