Route Description for Cave Falls to Bechler Falls Trail
Cave Falls to Bechler Falls is a lovely route in the southwest corner of Yellowstone National Park. This trail can be buggy, especially in the early summer. If you are hiking in June or early July, bring along some bug spray or wear long layers to deter the mosquitoes. However, with little traffic year-round, the Cave Falls to Bechler Falls Trail is a relaxing stroll along the Bechler River. This is the perfect route for an evening stroll with loved ones away from the noise and crowds of the more popular trails in Yellowstone National Park.
Beginning at the Cave Falls Picnic Area, follow the trail as it curves northwest along the Fall River and the Bechler River. Hike along the south bank of the Bechler River for about a mile to Bechler Falls.
Take a rest at the falls and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. When you are ready to head back, simply retrace your steps to the Cave Falls Picnic Area, where you began.
