Route Description for West Lake Loop
Hiking the West Lake Loop is a breathtaking experience with an amazing forest landscape and viewpoints overlooking three different waterfalls that make it easy to find something for everyone on this outdoor adventure. The trail sets out from the parking lot and crosses over the road before entering into the dense canopy of the forest. After a short distance, you will come to a fork in the trail that you should follow to the left on a route that runs closely alongside the powerful Clearwater River. Along the hike, you will be guided by the roaring river, as you make your way past a series of viewing points looking out over Bailey’s Chute and the Marcus Waterfalls. Continuing further along the trail, you will reach its northernmost point at the cascading waters of Myanth Falls. After taking in the views, continue along the trail as it turns to the south east to lead you through the forest and past the calm waters of West Lake, on the return journey to the trailhead.
