Route Description for Killarney Lake Loop Hike
Although short, the Killarney Lake Loop is a fun, family-friendly adventure on Vancouver Island that will take you through a lovely rainforest that is packed with all types of plant and animal life, as well as unique rock formations scattered along the trail. The route sets out from the parking area and heads south across the road and into a powerline clearing with mountain bike trails. Keep an eye out for any passing cyclists and give them plenty of room to pass you on the trail. Follow the route as it turns to the east and enters into the thick cover of the forest for the loop portion of the hike. At the fork, head left to make your way around the picturesque edge of the lake and take in the amazing scenery across the water. As you work your way around the loop, you will be met with vast moss-covered boulders that present the perfect opportunity for a bit of climbing and exploration. When you meet back up with the initial fork in the trail, follow it to the left to exit the forest and return back to the trailhead where you began.
