Route Description for Enfola Peninsula
This Tuscan walk in Elba Island has picturesque sea views all around. We strongly recommend spending at least one night in this island as the panoramas are simply amazing.
From the parking lot, take the gravel road to the right of the tuna factory. After 10 minutes you will pass through the park gates (Arcipelago Toscano National Park). After this you will pass an abandoned stone building, soon after you will come to a fine viewpoint.
Just up the road, at an abandoned concrete building, go left. You’ll come out to the right of this building on the way down.
Continue on the road, you’re going to go on a clockwise path. Soon you pass a tunnel and the road turns into a small path through a light forest. Pass through more tunnels as you continue.
At the base of the hill take a path to the left, signed 208. Go through trees and then come to some rocks with a rope. This section is easy to get down if dry, but be cautioned that it can be quite slippery when wet.
Where the path splits, go left for a nice viewpoint; this is a great spot for a picnic with the sound of the water and the seagulls in the background.
Return back up the first path, where it splits take the right path with logs making steps. Soon you will rejoin the path and go left, then continue around the peak. Once back at road go left and down.
Insider Hints for Enfola Peninsula
- The Emanuel Bistro di Mare, located at the start of the walk, is a great place to stop for lunch.
- In a pinch, you could do this walk on a daytrip from Piombino if you have your own transportation. Take the morning ferry over, do the walk, take a drive around Elba, and take a dinner-time ferry back to Piombino.
