Route Description for Meridian Trailhead to Idaho Road Trailhead
The Meridian Trailhead to Idaho Road Trailhead route is an awesome multi-use trail right outside of Apache Junction. With excellent views of the desert and mountains to the north, it’s a scenic trail despite being so close to town. You can use this route for hiking, running, or biking. Do it from either end, do a section of it, do all of it, it’s up to you!
Although dogs are permitted off-leash here, we do recommend keeping your dog on a leash due to the mixed nature of traffic on this trail. Additionally, bring lots of water and prepare for the sun if you’re hiking on a warmer day.
The route begins off N Meridian Drive. Turn right at the Bulldog Saddle junction. At Ironwood Road, there’s another entrance to the trail partway through. The route extends to N Idaho Road. Note that there’s new construction going up in this area, so parking on this side of the trail may someday be limited or nonexistent, making access at Meridian or Idaho your best bet.
