Route Description for Scout Mountain Trail
Hiking the Scout Mountain Trail is a great way to experience the natural beauty of the landscape surrounding Powell River without the added length or difficulty that comes with some of the more challenging routes in the area. For relatively low effort, you will be able to experience some amazing views that stretch out across the Strait of Georgia toward the Texada and Vancouver islands. Setting out from the trailhead, follow the route to the east as you enter into the dense forest cover. As you climb up the gentle slope, you will pass through an amazing forest that is packed with moss-covered trees, ferns, and various species of wild mushrooms. Reaching the top of the trail, make your way around the small loop while taking in the amazing views across the Sunshine Coast before heading back along the same path to return to the trailhead.
