Route Description for Paradise Meadows Trail
Hiking along the Paradise Meadows Trail is a quick and easy way to get out and experience the natural beauty of Strathcona Provincial Park. The trail is a well-maintained mixture of boardwalk and gravel paths that feature minor elevation changes that are enough to keep the route interesting without too much difficulty.
Throughout the hike, you will pass by beautiful stretches of old-growth forest and countless small lakes, and a few larger ones, like the charming waters of Lake Helen Mackenzie and nearby Battleship Lake. The picturesque scenery of the area creates a tranquil atmosphere to hike through, with Mount Elma and Mount Brooks standing proudly behind the shimmering water of the lakes and the vast expanse of the blue sky high above. On the return loop of the trail, you will once again pass by the small ponds and marshy area that can be found near the trailhead.
While this trail is a great way to become acquainted with the park, it’s also a very busy one, so it’s best to arrive early to beat out the crowds and have a bit of solitude along the trail.
