Route Description for Diffwys Walk
From the car park, set off on a fairly well-trod packhorse track to the north. Ignore the similar track angling almost directly west to Bwlch y Rhiwgyr. The track will pass through several stone walls, then open onto fields, where vehicle use on the track might be spotted. Continue to ascend until you reach the foot of the steep Braich Ridge. The path will veer left here, to eventually loop back around; you can follow this, but it’s much shorter to just approach this section head on and hike straight up to the top of the ridge.
Once you’re at the high point, it’s a simple matter of walking a relatively flat ridge to the summit of Diffwys. Turn right to walk your way to the Diffwys West Top, the shorter sister of Diffwys. Continue onward, with the ridge line angling to the north as you approach Diffwys. Take care to stay on the left shoulder of the ridge - the right side drops off very steeply. A ladder stile brings you over a wall and onto the summit, with incredible views of the coast to the southwest. Descend and return the way you came to complete the walk.
