Route Description for Conwy Mountain Circular Walk
From the car park, look for the sign reading “Mynydd y Dref - Conwy Mountain”. Cross the stile here and proceed along the clear path, which quickly ascends to the summit ridge. At the bench, the main path leads to the left, but it’s worth taking a quick detour to the crest of the hill for the panoramic views. You can then take a more exposed path on the right, or retreat back to the main path on the ridge - either way, you’ll continue westward. The path leads soon enough to the summit of Conwy Mountain. With sweeping views of the coast to the north, and the imposing Carneddau range to the south, there’s plenty of vista to enjoy!
The descent bears left along a wall, with a multitude of paths providing a touch of uncertainty. Keep along the widest one, which soon becomes quite straightforward as the old track brings you back eastwards. A steady descent (ignoring the paths branching off to the left) returns you to the car park that you started from.
Getting to the Conwy Mountain Circular Walk Trailhead
The Conwy Mountain circular walk starts from the town of Conwy. With the mountain so close to town, there are plenty of places to start the walk from. The closest car park lies along the aptly named Mountain Road, on the west side of the A547 across from Bodlondeb Park.Route Information
