Route Description for Cold Springs Nature Trail
Those seeking a short, easy-going adventure in the Sequoia National Park will enjoy the Cold Springs Nature Trail. Wandering through lush woodlands and flowering meadows, this route boasts the perfect excuse to get the whole family into the great outdoors. As you hike, keep an eye out for snakes, lizards, deer, and bears! Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.
Embark on your adventure along the Cold Springs Nature Trail from the trailhead off Mineral King Road. Setting out from here, the path travels east along the East Fork of Kaweah River. Take your time to admire the lush vegetation that encompasses the river, and be sure to mind your footing on the uneven terrain. Through the tree breaks, you will be granted mesmerizing vistas of the High Sierra Mountains that command the skyline.
You will ultimately reach the trail’s end at the intersection with the Mineral King Road. From here, turnaround and retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
