Route Description for Transept Trail
The Transept Trail is a quick jaunt with pleasant views. This hike is far less busy than most trails in Sedona, which makes it a good pick for a quiet evening hike. We love this route during golden hour.
We recommend good boots or close-toed shoes at minimum for this hike as it’s quite rocky and you’ll be climbing some rocky steps. Additionally, as with all trails in Sedona, bring lots and lots of water.
From the trailhead, cross the road and hike east into the desert. Look for Cathedral Rock to your left and Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte ahead of you. You’ll be able to admire these iconic rock formations the whole way. It’s a straight shot to the trail’s end at the junction, where you’ll turn around and retrace your steps.
