Route Description for Submarine Rock and Devil’s Dining Room Hike
Submarine Rock and the Devil’s Dining Room sinkhole are two of Sedona’s many natural oddities, and they’re both accessible on the same easy trail. This hike takes you to the drastic 27 m sinkhole first, then continues to the unique Submarine Rock and back.
There are lots of opportunities to extend your hike in this area if you’d like. We recommend downloading a GPS track ahead of time to assist at junctions and to lend a hand if you do want to wander a bit. Also, remember to bring lots of water, especially if you plan to hike between May and October.
The hike begins from the trailhead at the end of Morgan Road. You’ll take Broken Arrow Trail down to the sinkhole. Stay on the safe side of the edge, but peer over into this cavern to check it out. From the sinkhole, continue south and then east to Submarine Rock. From here, you’ll retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
