Route Description for Pyramid to Scorpion Trail Loop
The Pyramid to Scorpion Trail Loop is a gorgeous hike often used to appreciate Cathedral Rock at sunset. This is an easy loop, although a bit rocky at points. If you want the best sunset view, try to start your hike about an hour prior to sunset.
Some users report accidentally heading off-trail about halfway through the loop, so we recommend downloading a GPS track if possible. If in doubt, stick to the trail close to the hill you’ll be looping around.
You can do this loop either way, but the best sunset view is counterclockwise. From the trailhead, take a few steps to where the trail splits and keep right. You’ll hike along the northern edge of the hill, taking a left at the junction on the northwest corner of the loop. This will bring you inbetween the hill and the butte beside you. Continue around the bottom of the hill, enjoying the remarkable view, until you reach the trailhead again.
