Route Description for Munds Mountain Trail
Munds Mountain Trail takes you up a grand butte to the top of Munds Mountain, where you’ll have excellent views for miles. It’s a beautiful hike that sees less traffic than other nearby trails, so add it to your list on weekends where it seems like every other hike in Sedona is packed.
For this route, you’re going to need a high-clearance vehicle. Normal cars won’t make it to the trailhead, and you’ll end up needing to park along the road and hike the rest of the way.
From the trailhead, you’ll take Schnebly Hill Trail as it traverses up the side of the butte. Look down on Merry Go Round as you make your way up to the edge of the butte. You’ll follow the cliff to the small saddle that leads to Munds Mountain. From here, soak up the views before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
