Route Description for Merry Go Round Rock via Munds Wagon Trail
Merry Go Round Rock is one of many beautiful natural rock formations in Sedona, and its unique round platform end is often used for photography. The hike to this spot on Munds Wagon Trail is a moderately difficult adventure with great scenery. It’s suitable for most skill levels and ages.
The only complaint from users is that this trail closely follows a route used by pink Jeep tours and ATVs, so it can be a bit noisy. Don’t let this stop you from visiting, though! Watch for mountain biker traffic and share the trail.
Starting from the trailhead, you’ll be on the trail, which closely follows Schnebly Hill Road most of the way. You’ll be hiking underneath Pointed Dome, The Teapot, and Munds Mountain. Where the road ends, you’ll go straight through two junctions and then make your final approach to the rock. You can climb up if you feel comfortable doing so, or you can admire it from ground level. When you’re ready, retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
