Route Description for Margs Draw Spur A Trail
The Margs Draw Spur A Trail is a lesser-used route that gives you a constant view of Munds Mountain on the trip out. It’s not the easiest to follow in all spots, but the views are worth it. It also doesn’t get as busy as nearby trails, which can be a godsend in the busy season. This route is easy enough for all skill levels.
This trail has some rocky sections, so we recommend hiking it in sturdy boots or other trail-appropriate shoes. Open-toed shoes aren’t recommended because of the rocks and also because of the plentiful cacti on this route.
From the trailhead, take Margs Draw Spur A Trail east. You’ll hike to the junction with Margs Draw Trail and continue straight on. The route ambles through the desert, lined by agave and juniper, with Munds Mountain looming ahead and Snoopy Rock to your left. Where the route ends, turn around and retrace your steps.
