Route Description for Broken Arrow and Morgan Road Loop
Broken Arrow Trail is regarded as one of the best Jeep trails in Sedona, but the scenery makes it a must-do for hikers, too. Thanks to the split between the Jeep tracks and hiking tracks, all sorts of users can enjoy this trail. It’s also popular with mountain bikers. This route makes a loop to give you some varied scenery, including the Devil’s Dining Room sinkhole.
This trail gets quite busy, so we recommend arriving early. You’ll also want to pack plenty of water, especially if you're hiking in the warmer months. This trail is exposed to the sun and can get hot.
Begin from the trailhead at the end of the road. The parking lot is very small, so some hikers walk in from further into town. The trail is wide and easy to follow and is marked by cairns anywhere it might become hard to follow. Head along the south side of the OHV track, crossing the base of a sandstone butte. You’ll curve around a spur in the OHV track to Devil’s Dining Room, a sinkhole of up to 27 m. Check out the sinkhole, staying firmly on the outside of the fencing for safety.
From the sinkhole, you’ll keep left to a 4-way junction, where you’ll make a sharp left to begin your return trip to the trailhead.
