Route Description for Longview Peak and Far Country Lookout Loop
Hike the Longview Peak and Far Country Loop for a solid dose of forest scenery, enjoying the greenery and the viewpoint over Bellevue. This hike is suitable for most and especially pretty after a rainfall when the waterfalls and creeks are flowing.
Begin from the parking area. Before heading out, consider downloading your GPS track to avoid confusion at the many intersections. You’ll take Old Man’s Trail on your left and go through the first set of junctions. Take Cave Hole Trail and then stay left onto Bypass. Take a right at the T-junction and then keep right at the next split. Stay left and merge onto Shy Bear Trail. Go right at Shy Bear Pass and keep right onto Longview Peak Trail. Continue onto Deceiver Trail and then left back onto Shy Bear. This will take you to Indian Trail. Turn sharply right onto Quarry Trail, then keep left before the stream. Turn right at the T, then left, then stay straight back to the parking lot.
