Route Description for Lake Union Loop
The Lake Union Loop is a well-maintained urban pathway that offers continual views of the lake and a level surface for walking, running, or biking. It’s a busy pathway, but it’s the perfect way to get some steps in for those in the city.
You’ll share the road with traffic for part of the road, so walk with caution (especially at night).
Begin from across the hotel. You can do this loop either way, but we’ll describe it clockwise. Head north on the path past various businesses and parking areas. You’ll take the Westlake Cycle Track north along the shore until the ship canal. It’s easy to lose the path near the Fremont Canal, so look for the sign for University Bridge. On the other side, go right onto the lakeshore path. Pass Gas Works Park and continue to the other end of the ship canal.
At Peace Park, turn right and cross the bridge, then turn right again to pass Good Turn Park and Fairview Park. Continue on this trail past Lake Union Park, then arrive at the trailhead having completed your loop.
