Route Description for Texas Creek Trail

The Texas Creek Trail is an ideal hike for intrepid adventurers seeking a demanding excursion. The stimulating terrain will guide trekkers over several streams, through lush woodlands, up rocky terrain, and steep ascents. This hike, open year-round, proves more difficult in the winter months when the snow-cloaked path is icy and difficult to navigate, so we highly suggest a summer or fall trek. Traveling deep into the wilderness, make sure you are well prepared and be mindful of wildlife! Though taxing, this beautiful hike is well worth the effort.

Embark on your adventure along the Texas Creek Trail from the trailhead off of the Texas Creek Road. From here, hikers will be guided northeast past several quaint pools along the Texas Creek Trail. From here, you will also be granted views of the snow-capped looming peak from the meadows before being delivered beneath the timberline. Soon after your departure, you will be delivered beneath the timberline and guided along the curves of the babbling creek. Let the sounds of the gurgling waters relax you as you wander through the forested valley.

Bounded by towering collegiate peaks, you will feel like an ant in relation to the majestic peaks. You will meet the trail’s end after passing Birthday Peak. If you have your backpacking gear, find a spot beneath the treeline away from the elements. When you are ready to head back to the trailhead, simply retrace your footing along the path.
