What is better than fresh scenery every step of the way? The point-to-point Lost Man Trail is a wonderful adventure that reveals the beauty of the epic alpine terrain. Travel through luxuriant alpine tundras laden with wildflower and mountain goats to Lost Man Lake. Open year-round, the summer presents the ideal opportunity to bask in the vibrance of the vegetation. In the winter months, trade your hiking boots for snowshoes and enjoy a totally different perspective of the mountainous wilderness.
After arranging for a pickup at the trail’s end or leaving a vehicle, begin your journey along the Lost Man Trail from the Lost Man Loop Trailhead. From here, track north along the Lost Man Loop Trail. Enjoy the sights of the encompassing snow-dusted peaks and you will eventually pass Independence Lake before meeting Lost Man Lake. Revel in the blue-hued waters of the alpine lake and continue walking along the charming trail.
The route will eventually curve you south, delivering you beneath the sparse tree shade of towering pines. Revel in the grandeur of Geissler Mountain looming above as you trek. You will eventually pass the Lost Man Reservoir before arriving at the Lost Man Trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
