Begin your journey along the Lonesome Lake Trail from the trailhead off Homestake Road. From here, track south along the Lonesome Lake Trail through the woodlands and along a gurgling creek. Enjoy the sounds of the wind whistling through the trees and let the sounds lull you into a state of tranquility. Weaving between meadowlands and tree shade, you will be granted sparse views of the encompassing snow-capped peaks, which serve as great motivation.
Follow along the path, and you will eventually meet Lonesome Lake, a charming body of water flanked by craggy cliffs and sparse evergreens.
