Route Description for Chapman Trail
Short, sweet, and scenic are the three words we would use to describe the Chapman Trail. Traveling through lush woodlands and expansive meadows to deliver views of the mountains and the lake, this trek certainly checks all the boxes. Open year-round, this adventure can easily be enjoyed in the winter, as long as you strap on a pair of snowshoes. If you are seeking a tranquil, quick, and picturesque hike, then we cannot recommend the Chapman Hike enough!
Embark on your excursion along the Chapman Trail from the trailhead of the Chapman Creek Road. From here, the trail will begin to gradually climb through the woodlands. Enjoy the shade of the looming, sweet-smelling pines as you track north, and you will soon enter a meadow that exposes epic mountain views. Here, you will be diverted south to make your way beneath the timberline to the shores of Chapman Lake.
Explore the shoreline and revel in the postcard-worthy sight of the lily pad laden lake hemmed by verdant greenery and rolling mountains. Admire the views and have a picnic near the water. To get back to the trailhead simply backtrack along the path.
