Setting out from the trailhead, the Filbert Steps to Telegraph Hill Hike begins to climb up the famous steps. Enjoy the enchanting ambiance as you ascend through the neighborhood amongst lush gardens. Take your time as you climb, and don’t forget to look back and take in the vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge. After ascending the steps, cross over Telegraph Hill Boulevard and wander the path around the west side of Colt Tower. Loop around the statue of Christopher Columbus, marveling in the panoramas of the Bay before beginning your descent.
From here, take the easternmost path to the south of Julius’ Castle and onto Montgomery Street. At this point, you will connect with the Greenwich Stairs, which will lead you down to Sansome Street. Turn right here and walk south back to the parking lot.
