Route Description for Trick or Treat and Plantation Hike
For casual hikers that aren’t looking for a strenuous workout, but still want to take in some wonderfully scenic views of the picturesque Southern California landscape, the Trick or Treat and Plantation Hike is a great adventure to set your sights on.
Setting out from the trailhead next to the Yellow Post #25 campsite, you will follow the path as it winds uphill through the forest to the south. You will traverse some rocky terrain through this portion of the trail, so try to keep an eye on your footing while also taking in the natural beauty of your woodland surroundings.
Eventually, you will exit the tree cover along the Skyline Ridge, where you will be able to enjoy some wonderful views from a vantage point overlooking the Santa Ana River Valley. After taking in the views, make your way west along the 2N10 Trail for a short distance, before picking up the Plantation Trail as it leads back through the forest to the north. From here, you will eventually meet up with your original path, which you can follow back into the trailhead where you began your journey.
