The Holcomb Valley Campground Hike is a great family-friendly adventure in the San Bernardino National Forest that will take you through a wooded valley for views of the surrounding hills. While out hiking the trail, you will leave the campground behind and make your way through the tranquil forest landscape, enjoying the views of the undulating valley terrain before turning back on the return leg. This is a great hiking route to pair with a fun weekend of camping in the area.

Route Description for Holcomb Valley Campground Hike

Featuring easy to navigate paths and quiet roads, the Holcomb Valley Campground is a laidback adventure to be sure; however, there is still a little bit of rugged terrain underfoot. Make sure that you wear proper hiking footwear for the best traction while out on the trail. Additionally, you will need to purchase an Adventure Pass for this hike and display it in your vehicle, so be sure to do so before setting out.

While it might not be the longest hike, the views of the surrounding hills and easy-going terrain make the Holcomb Valley Campground Hike an excellent adventure for all ages. If you are looking to spend some extra time exploring this beautifully scenic area, try staying overnight at the campground to get a real feel for the natural beauty of the San Bernardino National Forest.

Setting out from the Holcomb Valley Campground, you will make your way to the northwest corner of the campground and pick up the trail, following it through the tree cover to the north for 0.21mi. Here, you will meet up with a road and cross directly over to the opposite side, where you will once again pick up the path as it leads towards the edge of the wood.

Continuing on to the north, you will cross an open stretch of terrain and head for the tree line on the opposite side, where you will meet up with the Holcomb Pinnacles Camp Road. Following this to the left, you will continue on for 0.4 km, where you will come to a junction in the road.

Bearing to the right, you will head to the northwest through the valley for the next 1.3 km, taking in the views of the surrounding woodlands and rocky hillsides, before arriving at the endpoint of the route near a junction with another road. From here, you will turn back and retrace your steps to return to the Holcomb Valley Campground where you began your hike.
