Route Description for The Honeycomb Cliffs Trail
The Honeycomb Cliffs Trail is a fantastic route in the Solitude Ski Resort area east of Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail is a steep and consistent climb all the way to the top. Hikers should arrive prepared with proper hiking footwear and more water than you think you’ll need. We recommend bringing hiking poles on this trail to aid in the ascent and to save your knees some strain on the way back down. The Honeycomb Cliffs Trail is an excellent spot to see wildlife such as deer, moose, and coyotes. In the summer, this trail is bursting with wildflowers, and in autumn this hike is a gorgeous, colorful display of fall in the forest.
From the parking area at the end of East Church Road, take the trail on the left to follow Silver Fork southwest to a divide. Take a left at the divide and follow the Honeycomb Cliffs Trail past the old Woodlawn mine up to the viewpoint at the top of the route.
Take a rest at the top and enjoy the incredible views of the valley below before turning around and following the same path back to the trailhead.
