Route Description for Little Water Peak Loop
The Little Water Peak Trail is a challenging route for experienced adventurers. This trail is rugged and overgrown and demands that hikers be adept at route-finding. Good navigation skills and an adventurous spirit are essential to have on this hike. We also recommend bringing along a lot of water and lots of snacks to fuel your day. However, if you are looking for a challenging route away from the crowds, this trail is perfect for you. With very little traffic year-round, The Little Water Peak Trail is a great place to find some peace and solitude in the beautiful Utah wilderness. This trail is also a great place to see wildlife such as deer, elk, and songbirds who call the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National forest home.
From the Big Water Trailhead, head east along Mill Creek, then turn south on the Little Water Trail. At the trail fork, take the path on the left to head along the Great Western Trail. Follow the Great Western Trail before cutting south up to the top of Little Water Peak.
Take a rest at the summit and enjoy the incredible views before heading down via the west ridge. Descend along the ridge to the Big Water Trail. Turn right at the Big Water Trail, then take the Little Water Trail back to the Big Water Trailhead, where you began.
