Route Description for Ensign Peak via Hell Canyon Trail
The Ensign Peak via Hell Canyon Trail is a fantastic hiking route in Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail is moderately challenging with a consistent incline up to the top of Ensign Peak. Proper, supportive hiking footwear is essential for this route, and hiking poles are nice to have to aid your ascent and descent. Dogs are welcome to join you on this trail but must be kept on a leash for the duration of their hike. The views from the top of historic Ensign peak are fantastic, be sure to bring a camera and give yourself lots of time to stop at the top and soak in the city skyline. For an especially spectacular experience, we recommend heading out on this hike in the late afternoon to catch the sunset from the viewpoint at the top.
