Route Description for Bonneville Shoreline Trail Loop
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail Loop is an easy hike in Salt Lake City. This trail can get quite hot in the summer months, so lather on the sunscreen, wear a good sunhat and bring more water than you think you’ll need if you are heading out at that time of year. This trail is family-friendly and appropriate for kids of all ages. Dogs are allowed to join you on this trail as well but must be kept on leash for the duration of their hike. The Bonneville Shoreline Trail Loop is a beautiful little circuit that makes for a great morning walk or a relaxing study break.
From the boundary gate along Red Butte Canyon Road, follow the road southwest, then turn northwest along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail: University of Utah Section. Continue along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail for 1.2 km before turning southeast and heading back to the boundary gate where you began.
