Route Description for Big Mountain Pass in Little Dell Recreation Area
The Big Mountain Pass Trail in the Little Dell Recreation Area is a gorgeous hiking, biking, and skiing route just east of Salt Lake City. As this route is multi-use, keep your eyes and ears open when hiking and allow faster folks to pass you by. If you are hiking this trail in the winter, traction devices such as microspikes or snowshoes are strongly recommended. The views from this trail are absolutely beautiful and this hike is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy the Utah Wilderness just outside of town.
From the boundary gate, follow the road as it tracks northeast. After approximately 6.0 km, turn around and follow your footsteps back to the trailhead.
