Route Description for Bear Canyon Bridge via The Bonneville Shoreline Trail
The hike to Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge via the Bonneville Trail is a great family outing. This trail is especially popular on the weekends, so we recommend heading out early to beat the crowds. In the winter, this trail gets icy patches that can be quite treacherous, so if you’re heading out at that time of year we strongly recommend wearing traction devices such as microspikes and bringing hiking poles to help with balance. The views along the trail and from the Bear Canyon Bridge itself are gorgeous. For a special experience, try this trail in the fall to see the Utah landscape in shades of orange and gold.
From the trailhead, follow the Bonneville Trail south to Bear Canyon. At Bear Canyon, you can do a short loop around the canyon before turning around and following the same trail back to Hidden Valley Park where you began.
