Route Description for Albion Meadows, Sugarloaf Pass, and Collins Road Loop
The Albion Basin, Sugarloaf Pass, and Collins Road circuit is fantastic hiking and trail running loop east of Salt Lake City, Utah. This route was originally designed by the Cirque Series trail running event team for their Alta trail race that is held annually. With over 762 m of vert, this trail is challenging. Hikers should be prepared with proper, supportive footwear and hiking poles if needed. Be sure to bring lots of water and lots of snacks to fuel your hike along this trail. The Albion Basin, Sugarloaf Pass, and Collins Road Loop is a fantastic place to spot forest wildlife such as deer and moose. If you are lucky enough to catch sight of wild animals, do not feed them and be sure to give them lots of personal space.
From Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge, follow the East Peruvian Acre Road east and the Albion Meadows Trail south before turning onto the Sugarloaf Pass Road up to the top of Mount Baldy.
Be sure to stop and enjoy the views from Mount Baldy (3,370 m) before returning to your starting point via Collins Road.
