Route Description for West Creek Falls Hike
The West Creek Falls Hike is a charming nature walk along the east border of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Departing from the McGraw Ranch, the trail will guide you alongside the creek and up beneath the coverage pines interspersed with aspen trees. Hike a forested path to the quaint falls where the trail culminates. This undulating path is short, but it is worth noting there are some steep segments. Wear sturdy footwear to avoid getting a rolled ankle as you trek the rocky terrain. Also, the path is located within the bounds of the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP); thus, visitors are required to purchase a park pass to access the trails.
Embark on your journey up the West Creek Falls Trail from the trailhead. From here, take the North Boundary Trail, north. Hike the forested route before ascending a rocky ridge. Enjoy the vista of the mountainous landscape from atop the exposed ridge before continuing your journey. When you are ready, descend the switchbacks into the West Creek Valley. Here the trail will merge with the West Creek Falls Trail and will guide you along the babbling waters up to the cascades.
Enjoy the ambiance of the West Creek Falls and the hypnotic sights of the cascading water. This is a great place to rest and refuel before heading back. Explore the falls and when you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
