Route Description for Lily Ridge Trail
The Lily Ridge Trail is a scenic high-country adventure. Hike around one of the Rocky Mountain National Park’s most picturesque lakes. The lovely lake is a popular day hike destination and a very Instagram-able location. When hiking, we recommend using the trail GPS, as the ridge path is more primitive and unmarked. This is a busy spot, so arrive early to secure a parking spot. Located within the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), hikers are required to purchase a park pass.
From the trailhead, the Lily Ridge Hike can be completed from either direction, but we recommend tracking clockwise. Veer left at the trailhead and hike along the Lily Lake Trail. Walk around the lake’s shores, reveling in the crystal-clear waters. Hike along the south shore and you will eventually encounter an intersection, here, stay straight on the Lily Ridge Trail. At the next junction, veer right and maintain along the Lily Ridge Trail. As you traverse the ridge, you will be granted expansive vistas of Lily Lake below and the mountainous landscape on the horizon.
There will be several intersecting and merging paths, ignore these. The route will eventually guide you down the ridge, onto the Lily Lake Trail and back to the trailhead.
