Route Description for Alpine Ridge Trail
The Alpine Ridge Trail is an epic nature walk. This accessible nature walk offers views usually only reserved for technical summit hikes. Revel the sights of the diverse typographies that design the Rocky Mountain National Park. Though short with little elevation gain, the altitude of the trail will surely leave you out of breath, no matter how proficient of a hiker you are! On your next journey to the Rocky Mountain National Park, add this short excursion to your to-do list. Note that visitors are required to purchase a park pass to access the trail.
Begin your journey along the Alpine Ridge Trail from the parking lot. The Alpine Ridge Trail tracks northeast from the trailhead. Hike the exposed path through the alpine meadows and up the stairs. This well-maintained path is popular so expect to share the route with fellow adventurers. Ascend the trail and you will eventually summit the overlook.
Revel in the sights from atop the ridge. Notice the prominent Ypsilon Mountain in the northeast and the Never Summer Mountain Range in the west. Enjoy the panoramic 360-degree views from lookout, and when you are ready to descend, retrace your steps down the path to the trailhead.
