Route Description for Klamath River Overlook Trail
The Klamath River Overlook is a wonderful adventure in the Redwood National Park that boasts breathtaking views of the Pacific and the Klamath River. Wander the revered route through the brush down to the overlook. Gradually climbing down to the vista point demands the ascent back up—so make sure you reserve some energy. Note the entirety of the path is exposed to the elements and located along the coast; expect windy and cold conditions—so we encourage you to dress in layers.
Embark on your adventure from the trailhead off Requa Road. Enjoy the panoramic vistas before heading out on the path, then head south down the path. Guiding you down the cliffside by way of switchbacks—it is important to take your time and mind your footing on the dirt route. Ultimately you will reach the trail’s end at the overlook.
Revel in the beauty of the dramatic coastline adorned with rocky outcrops and bounded by craggy bluffs. In the southeast, you will be granted sights of the Klamath River. After admiring the scenery, retrace your footing back up to the trailhead along the path.
