Route Description for Shane Lake Loop
The Shane Lake Loop is one of the many walks carved throughout a network of trails in Prince George's Forest for the World park. Before you go, know that Shane Lake is also a great spot for fishing, with Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout, and Cutthroat Trout swimming through its waters. Be sure to check rules and regulations on fishing before you go! Another thing to note before you lace up your boots and hit the trail is that a bear sighting is possible. Do yourself a favour and bring bear spray and brush up on bear safety tips!
Head out from the parking lot to start the walk, heading directly towards the lake. Follow the Shane Lake Loop trail at the lake and take your time circumnavigating it, revelling in the wild scenery. When you get close to where the loop around the lake started, you’ll head back up a path parallel to the one you came in on towards the parking lot.
