Route Description for Raven Lake and Ridge Trail
The Raven Lake and Ridge Trail near Prince George grant an unforgettable wild, remote hiking experience! Nothing beats travelling to a shimmering lake tucked into rugged scenery while the valley paints a tremendous picture in the backdrop. However, our walk not only takes you to the lake but above it along the ridge, giving you a greater chance to revel in the stunning scenery below.
From the car park, you’ll set out along the Raven Lake Trail, gradually inclining towards the lake. However, when you meet up with a junction, you can either visit the lake first by going left before looping up and along the ridge and back to this same junction, or go right to take the ridge first and then bask in the lake views up-close afterwards. You’ll also pass another small body of water! After soaking in the scenery, go back to the same junction to retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
Do note that you can wild camp in Sugarbowl Grizzly Den P.P, and there are some designated tent pads around Raven Lake. So make this the ultimate adventure by spending the night here! There’s also the option to avoid the ridge and just head to the lake for an out-and-back hike.
