Route Description for Kehoe Beach Trail
The Kehoe Beach Trail is a lovely adventure that offers a diversity of adventure pursuits. Walk, run, explore, wildlife watch, and toss a ball around. Wandering directly along the water’s edge, you can expect windy and foggy conditions—especially in the morning. We encourage you to dress in layers as the weather can change on a dime, so it’s best to be prepared! If you bring your pup, remember they must remain on leash!
Setting out from the trailhead, follow the Kehoe Beach Trail through the grasslands before opening to the beach. When you reach the beach, turn right and begin your exploration of the shore. Marvel in the sights of the crashing surf and keep your eyes peeled for any elephant seals lounging on the sand or playing in the waters! If you do spot a seal, be sure to keep your distance and try not to disturb them! Though the ocean views will mesmerize you, be sure to check out the impressive coastal cliffs that line the beach.
Continue wandering all the way to the northern end of the beach. Turn around here and retrace your footing all the way back to the trailhead.
